Newcastle Airport Lounge

Newcastle Airport is one of the major airports in northern England. It is located in the city of Newcastle Upon Tyne, and serves the ceremonial counties of Tyne and Wear, Northumberland, Durham, and North Yorkshire. In 2009, Newcastle Airport handled more than 4.5 million passengers, and was officially the 12th busiest airport in the United Kingdom. The airport has service from more than 20 airlines and flights to over 100 destinations on commercial and charter planes. There are domestic and international flights to cities such as Paris, Brussels, Plymouth, Aberdeen, Cardiff, Mallorca, London, Amsterdam, Isle of Man, and more. Notable airlines operating at this airport include Air France, EasyJet, Eastern Airways, British Airways, Ryanair, Lufthansa, and others.

Newcastle Airport offers passengers plenty of amenities and services at its terminal. However, this busy airport is usually crowded, as the departure halls quickly fill up with people. Most of the airport’s facilities are located on one large terminal spread out on ground level, so you can imagine how busy it can get. Fortunately, there are several private lounges available at the airport, where passengers can escape from all the noise and havoc.

The list of Newcastle Airport executive lounges includes Eastern Airways, Cheviot, Flybe, and British Airways. Three of these lounges are provided by airlines, and are available only to passengers flying on their planes. Only the Cheviot lounge is open to all passengers.

Guests at the Cheviot lounge can enjoy beverages (including spirits), while sitting on leather seats and reading newspapers and magazines, all in an air-conditioned room that offers great views of the runways. This lounge that’s open to the public is located across the Dixon’s shop and near escalators leading down to departure gates 1-30. You have to book in advance if you want to guarantee yourself access to this lounge.

Business passengers will want to use the British Airways lounge, which offers internet access, phones, faxes, and TVs. The FlyBe lounge is ideal for regular passengers, as it also has wireless internet and plasma TVs. Both of these lounges are located near the WHSmith shop.
