Cardiff Airport has a very nice lounge available for travellers passing through the airport. Even among executive airport lounges, the 51° Lounge is a stand out. Space is limited and lounges can be popular, however, so be sure to book airport lounge time in advance to make sure you don’t get left out in the cold.
Travellers may stay at the lounge for a maximum of 3 hours, and only ticketed passengers age 12 and up will be admitted. The lounge is open daily from 5 AM to 9 PM. The 51° Lounge has a casual/smart dress code, so no football shirts, shorts, or baseball caps are allowed. The lounge has ready access for the disabled and visitors have private washrooms available for their use.
If you need refreshment while you wait, the 51° Lounge offers complimentary fresh fruit and light snacks, also soft drinks, tea, and coffee. Beer, wine, and spirits are also available with a 2 drink limit per passenger. There is no smoking allowed in the lounge and suitable behaviour is always expected. The furnishings are soft and comfortable and the atmosphere is calm and restful; perfect for the traveller who needs to recharge and relax.
There are a variety of book, magazines, and papers available to help you pass the time, as well as widescreen TVs and airport monitors to keep you up to date on the status of your flight. You can make free use of the internet terminals in the lounge, and WiFi, fax, phone, and photocopy services are also available for a small charge. The lounge is open from 5 AM to 9 PM daily, but it is closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Years Day. The 51° Lounge is a very pleasant place to wait for your flight at Cardiff Airport.
